Formed in 1983, Dallas Brass & Electric has since earned a reputation as one of the strongest and most musical ensembles in the entire Southwest. Familiar dance tunes often receive a fresh and personal interpretation and ample room is given for the many excellent soloists to stretch out. No matter what they're playing, a strong undercurrent of jazz bubbles just beneath the surface. Various members of the band are veterans of the Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Artie Shaw and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras and have backed the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Bob James, Pearl Baily, the Temptations, the Four Tops, and Frank Sinatra, Jr.
At wedding receptions and corporate parties DB&E's extreme versatility comes into play. Their repertoire covers a wide range of styles including Top 40, Rock, Swing and Commercial Jazz with particular emphasis on R&B and 70's dance favorites. DB&E'sstylistic range extends even to jazz standards and big band titles making the band the complete musical solution for those functions beginning with dinner music or a cocktail reception and ending with high energy dancing.
