Jumpstart
A runner-up for "Best Cover Band" in the Austin Chronicle's 1997 Austin Music Awards, JUMPSTART is truly A Band For All Seasons. We'll jumpstart your party or club with a perfect mix of rock from the 60's through last week, country music (traditional and contemporary), hot n' spicy TexMex and Latino, with a couple of polkas and Cajun tunes thrown in. "We play it all" is the JUMPSTART motto.
Along with a full and varied playlist, JUMPSTART offers up a dynamic and energetic presentation that will keep the dance floor full and the good times rolling. We have a great time performing and we really get our audiences involved in the show.
JUMPSTART is fronted by Joe Pacheco and Lisa Marie. Joe has a strong voice and a wide vocal range, and can convincingly deliver everything from mellow country to high energy rock. Lisa can switch instantly from buttery smooth Patsy Cline songs to Girl With An Attitude rock and roll.
Any band is only as good as its rhythm section, and JUMPSTART has a great one. Mark Salmon on drums and Curtis Fried on bass provide that all-important rock solid foundation to JUMPSTART's music.
The rest of the group is rounded out by three multitalented individuals - Mike "Style" Murillo, Gordon Gunn, and Robert "Quarter Moon" Ortiz. Mike plays first lead guitar and keyboards, Gordon plays second lead/rhythm/acoustic guitars and trombone, and Robert plays trumpet and harmonizer (he's a horn section all by himself!).
Variety in vocals are all-important to the diversity of JUMPSTART, and here again the band measures up. Although Joe and Lisa are the primary vocalists, all JUMPSTART personnel take their turns at the lead mic and contribute richly to the vocal background.
